Welcome to the home of construction progress for all Measure I projects!
With funding from Bond Measure I, supported by the community, the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District has moved forward with construction to accommodate growing student enrollment. The project team includes Belmont-Redwood Shores School District (Owner), Blach Construction Company (General Contractor), IBI Group (Architect), and HMC Architects (Architect). The first phase of projects (2015) consists of work at Ralston Middle School, Nesbit Elementary School, and Redwood Shores Elementary School.
Scope of work at Ralston includes the addition of a new two-story classroom modular building (housing 8 new classrooms) and site improvements to the east side of the campus. The District intends for this to be the last facilities expansion at Ralston Middle School. Nesbit will include 2 two-story classroom buildings and site improvements. The 6 new classrooms, 2 elective classrooms, 2 work rooms, restrooms, and multiple offices were integrated into the design with the intent of expanding the campus to include grades 6, 7, and 8, serving to help with future enrollment growth in the middle school grades. The additions at Redwood Shores include a single-story 2056 sq ft modular classroom building with site infrastructure improvements surrounding the new building area.
The construction schedule runs from mid-March through August 24th, with all construction scheduled to be completed prior to the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year. Progress updates and photos for each site will be periodically posted and can be viewed by clicking on the corresponding campus tabs above.
